We have completed the third service project for the school year. St. Stephen the Martyr and St. Joan of Arc Schools have completed the end of year school supply drive for Catholic Charities for their "Community Day."
Each year Catholic Charities puts together toiletries, clothing, art supplies for the children, and other items many of us take for granted. It is a way in which the community can take care of those who need a little extra help. Once these items are separated and organized into packages, families from all around are invited to share in this generosity.
I feel very blessed that we had the opportunity to contribute to this fine event. Thank you to the schools who offered their goods to this service!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students and administration of St. Stephen the Martyr School in Omaha for their dedication to service and the greater community. This year alone we have sponsored three separate service projects, in which the student body has participated. They have written and illustrated storybooks for the children of a Catholic Charities daycare. They have created artistic "Have a Good Day" placemats for the patients at Children's Hospital. They will also gather gently used school supplies at the end of the year for Catholic Charities. These notebooks, crayons, and the like will be handed out at the Food Pantry so the children can foster their imaginations throughout the summer months. This is the third year St. Stephen the Martyr School has participated in this project, and St. Joan of Arc School has agreed to join us this year in bringing a little bit of hope to the growing number of families who need it the most. Thank you again for your generosity.
